Studio analog gear and custom solutions for studio recording environment
Despite the remarkable quality achieved by digital equipment, there remains an elusive quality that emulations and digital plug-ins cannot fully capture or replicate.
We design devices that are sonically so rich of details that can not be completely emulate and replace
digitally.
This encompasses the intricacies of non-linearity within high-gain circuits, the nuanced behavior of various
components interacting at different signal dynamic levels, the complex interplay of distortion during
transients, and the crucial aspect of impedance matching, among other subtle characteristics. These
elements contribute to an analog richness and depth that, until now, have proven challenging to fully
replicate in the digital realm. We are committed to delivering our distinctive analog character, elevating your
audio experience beyond the capabilities of working solely "in the box."
Two-channel line-level booster designed to introduce saturation and distortion to any line-level source that requires it. The input transformer provides a floating balanced input, ensuring complete galvanic isolation. The LM2M shares the same input and output stages as the LW2M but with different configurations, enabling a variety of combinations to affect line-level signals through the input-output stepper potentiometers.
Two distinct character switches make this machine highly flexible for tracking or adding parallel distortions to the mix. The match switch allows for better matching with sources such as DAC, DI, BUS/AUX sum of vintage consoles, reducing the input impedance to 2KOhm. The HPF switch, a 135Hz high-pass filter, prevents unnecessary distortion in the low band when not required. The phase switch allows for phase rotation, making it particularly interesting when used as an overdrive in parallel configuration.
Two-channel microphonic and line-level preamplifier, both equipped with dedicated input signal transformers: DC-coupled and providing complete galvanic isolation from sources. The LW2M boasts two uniquely warm input gain and output stages, controlled by stepper potentiometers for prompt recall; these combinations allow you to widely enrich or keep the signal source closed to neutral.
The first switch allows you to select between Mic or Line sources. The MIC-Z switch enables better matching with different passive microphones, significantly affecting the mic transducer damping. The HPF switch, a 120Hz high-pass filter, eliminates undesired low-frequency information. The Character switch improves distortion, enriching it with even harmonics. A Phase switch corrects possible phase incongruity.
Stereo gang dynamic processor that enables the manipulation of the audio signal by
shaping its envelope. The unique character of this machine is achieved through a high feedback process and the exceptionally fast response of the optical elements, combined with distinctive input and output circuits. In
the Planer section, side-chain processing involves summing the left and right channels. This machine stands
out due to its precisely matched components and trimmed circuits, making it unique as an opto, stereo, and
reliably matched dual-channel unit. The input and output circuits, along with their respective set levels,
provide the flexibility to either enhance or maintain the integrity of the signal being processed by the
SBP2301.
The balanced transformer output not only isolates but also adds character, complemented
by a colored and robust output stage.
